The watchtower (that also doubled as dovecot) of Montedinove was thought to have been built in the early 1600’s after the establishment of the Presidium of Montalto (1586) by Pope Sixtus V. Known as La Torre, the watchtower overlooked the Val Tesino and was situated along the old Pignotto road linking Ascoli Piceno to Fermo. The Gregorian Montedinove Cadastre (1724), along with the Archives of the Episcopal of Montalto Marche recorded a tower-house on the hillside of the Tesino River. In about 1850 the building was enlarged and retains that shape to the present day.

The watch tower has been restored over an 18 month period to combine convenience with the thrill of living in a real castle. As well as the main features of the house there house has ample bathrooms, seating areas inside and out and a big new pool with stunning views. Watch towers need to be built with great views and from here you can see for miles! The Tower has been perfectly and sympathetically transformed into an exclusive country house where tradition and efficiency, preservation and comfort are well balanced. It offers a great place to stay for families and small corporate meetings. The pool and garden has been landscaped and is great for kids. The location is in the attractive Tesino Valley, just 28 km from Grottammare and its famous beaches, great shopping and restaurants. There is a lot to do and explore: landscapes, little towns, great fashion shopping, food, wine and of course, relaxing.
